I’m Alex Mihaila, the pharmacist behind MisterPharmacist™. After more than 30 years working in community pharmacies, corporate chains, and the pharmaceutical industry, I realised that too many pharmacies are built around systems instead of people.
After managing two large Shoppers Drug Mart locations, I decided to create something different.

Behind MisterPharmacist™️ is Alex Mihaila, a pharmacist with over 30 years of experience in community pharmacy and the pharmaceutical industry. Raised in Montreal, Alex earned his pharmacy degree from the University of Montreal and later completed an MBA at Concordia University. His career began as a community pharmacist in the Montreal area with Pharmaprix®️, where he honed his commitment to patient care.
Driven by a passion for innovation, Alex transitioned into roles in sales, marketing, regulatory affairs, medical information, government affairs, and pricing within the pharmaceutical industry with companies like Novartis™️and Eli Lilly™️. He then returned to his community pharmacy roots, managing and operating two Shoppers Drug Mart locations in Rexdale and Queens Quay. Alex clarifies that, contrary to what many believe, Shoppers Drug Mart stores have not been real franchises for over two decades—a unique insight gained from his extensive experience there and the reason why he decided that independent pharmacy was the only real choice for true patient care.
